About The Position

The Installation Support Technician role focuses on providing installation and troubleshooting support for network and PC infrastructure, specifically involving cabling tasks. The technician will be responsible for running and terminating CAT 5 and CAT 6 cables, installing hardware, and ensuring safety compliance while working at heights. This position is temporary and contract-based, requiring the technician to provide their own tools and work on-site in Grand Rapids, MI.

Requirements

• Proven experience in running CAT 5 and CAT 6 cables, and installing network hardware.
• Ability to work on ladders and overhead.
• Basic understanding of network and PC installation.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to work independently and efficiently.
• Good communication skills to interact with team members and clients.
• Knowledge of safety practices related to working with electrical equipment, ladders, and power tools.

Nice To Haves

• Certifications such as CompTIA Network+.
• Previous experience in a similar hands-on IT support role.

Responsibilities

• Run, terminate, and test CAT 5 and CAT 6 cables according to industry standards.
• Install and configure network and PC type hardware.
• Drill and securely mount speakers and other equipment as required.
• Safely work on ladders to install and maintain equipment at heights.
• Provide hands-on support for hardware troubleshooting, replacements, and other support tasks as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, including cable runs, installations, and troubleshooting steps.
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

Benefits

• Competitive hourly pay of $24 - $27.
