About The Position

The Service Supervisor directs and coordinates field installations, customer service and fleet issues. This position will partner with General Manager to ensure quality of installation and product and directly supervises employees in the Residential Install/Service Department. This role is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. The position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge and proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Lotus Notes
  • Familiarity with AS400 and JD Edwards preferred
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years in operations management, outside sales or accounting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated, self-starter, sense of urgency
  • Personable, extroverted personality and well organized
  • Strong leadership and business metrics management skills
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Ability to analyze problems and provide solutions
  • Ability to multi-task and willingness to assist in warehouse operations
  • Must have valid driver's license

Nice To Haves

  • College degree in Sales, Marketing or Business preferred, but not mandatory

Responsibilities

  • Interviewing, hiring and training employees
  • Planning, assigning and directing work
  • Appraising performance
  • Rewarding and disciplining employees
  • Addressing complaints and resolving problems
  • Analyzing specifications and capacity data and performing mathematical calculations to determine the most effective process, tools, and human resource requirements
  • Identifying and executing solutions on quality control issues
  • Maintaining fleet maintenance; inspecting issued tools and equipment
  • Conducting weekly safety briefings with field employees
  • Conferring with department supervisors and sales personnel to determine status of existing and newly sold projects
  • Expediting operations that delay schedules and altering schedules to meet unforeseen conditions
  • Training new installers
  • Direct involvement on difficult installations
  • Maintaining quality in the field for all Residential Installers and Service
  • Passing vital product information to field employees
  • Compiling and updating a weekly logbook outlining all current projects as well as scheduled Builder meetings or training sessions
  • Daily review of completed Sales Orders: identifying back charges, comparing work completed to piece-rate schedule to report payroll totals, making note of product issues seen on a recurring basis
