About The Position

The Installation Superintendent is responsible for performing a wide variety of installation duties on technology projects for our clients. This position is the key field position for on-site direction of work and the actual work that gets done in our clients’ buildings. The Installation Superintendent needs to coordinate closely with project management, building contractors and others to manage all on-site installation activity. This position is a combination of Senior Install Tech and On-site Project Manager focused on the installation activity on the job site. This position does not directly manage personnel, (direct reports) but does manage the installation projects and ensures the installation occurs on time with no interruptions. This position is key in working with project managers and installation staff to resolve roadblocks for successful completion. This position is also responsible for ensuring the highest quality of installation work. Although this position can do some actual install work it is mostly focused on the site management functions listed.

Requirements

  • 5 years’ experience as an installation technician or related industry experience
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience in AV or construction-related project environments.
  • Deep understanding of AV installation practices, quality standards, and project execution processes.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and experience promoting safety compliance on active sites.
  • Proven ability to coordinate field activities across multiple trades and subcontractors.
  • Skilled in client communication and relationship management in dynamic project settings.
  • Ability to identify and resolve field issues with sound judgement and minimal escalation.
  • Excellent organizational skills for managing inventory, logistics, documentation, and field team performance.
  • Proficient in collaborating with Project Managers and Engineers on scope management, budget adherence, and project deliverables.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite for basic project documentation
  • AVIXA CTS or CTS-I certification achieved or in progress.
  • OSHA 30 certification required or obtainable within 90 days.
  • Experience leading field operations across multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Proficient in construction site coordination and cross-trade collaboration.
  • Familiarity with project management principles, scheduling tools, and budget tracking.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced manufacturer certifications on AV systems or components.
  • Experience with quality assurance processes and field documentation standards.
  • Prior success mentoring field technicians and fostering professional team development.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as on-site leader and supervisor for AV installation teams across multiple projects or large-scale sites supporting Lead Technicians and field teams in achieving daily production goals.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and promote a culture of health and safety on job sites.
  • Coordinate field activities with other trades, contractors, and site stakeholders to maintain schedule and workflow alignment. Conduct pre-construction and in-progress site walks to verify site readiness and installation progress.
  • Act as primary point of contact for on-site client representatives, fostering positive customer relationships.
  • Oversee subcontractor performance to ensure alignment with project scope, quality expectations, and safety standards.
  • Monitor professionalism, installation quality, and effectiveness to ensure adherence to Diversified and industry standards.
  • Lead on-site issue resolution, coordinating with Project Managers and Engineers as needed to address technical or logistical challenges.
  • Manage logistics, tooling, and material flow to support uninterrupted field operations.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of attendance records, timesheets, and reporting in alignment with project installation budgets.
  • Oversee documentation quality, including redline drawings, as-built records, and punch list completion in coordination with Project Managers.
