About The Position

The Installation Planner is a key member of the Operations Team in the Nordstrom Design and Construction group that will manage multiple projects pertaining to the purchase and installation of fixtures, wall coverings, lighting, carpet and furnishings for new construction and remodels of our Nordstrom Stores, Rack Stores, Distribution Centers and Offices. This includes communicating deadlines and providing status updates directly to vendors, contractors, and internal partners. A day in the life… Generate purchase orders for all project types: Nordstrom Stores, Racks, Distribution Centers, Offices, Rollouts and Special Projects. Track and coordinate delivery and installation of ordered items with various business units and team members including, but not limited to, Project Managers, Store and Visual Managers, Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack Business Units, Logistic Vendors, Suppliers, Design Team and Contractors. Communicate and provide visibility of order/shipping details to vendors, merchants, leadership, business units and stores. Provide consistent purchasing practices when creating and processing requisitions. Operate efficiently and employ effective problem-solving skills. Reconcile and code corporate card purchases and assist with Purchase Order payment reconciliations. Review and Process Construction Change Orders and Payment Applications Contribute positively to overall daily functioning of the team and cross train employees in department practices as needed. Review operating requirements, practices, and procedures.  Determine whether improvements can be made and work to implement changes as appropriate. Research and develop or enhance reporting tools that support the responsibilities of our team. Create analytical reports to support RFPs. Travel to stores for fixture installations to ensure accurate deliveries, provide training, and support punch list compilation and completion Oversee temporary workers, trucking partners, vendors and store personnel during store fixture installations, as needed. Collaborate with internal partners to define project requirements and deliverables.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Operations or related field
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with purchase order processes (ordering, tracking and payment) preferred
  • Exceptional organizational skills with an ability to prioritize, multi-task and overcome obstacles with a positive “can do” attitude in a fast-paced and detail driven environment.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects at any given time and to drive execution and deliver high results.
  • Detail oriented with a high level of curiosity, ownership, accountability, and initiative.
  • Highly analytical, able to research questions and review facts to make accurate decisions, summarize data and create meaningful reports.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in both one-on-one and group settings.
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret and analyze procedures, instructions, and communications.
  • Strong mathematical acumen with high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on store opening needs/schedules.  There is occasional night and weekend work on site during installations.
