About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Field Service Engineer (FSE) to provide installation, maintenance, and sustainment support for Access Control, Intrusion Detection and Security Surveillance Systems used by the U.S. Navy . This role requires local and remote travel to Naval sites. The FSE will be the primary technical representative on-site, responsible for the operational readiness of IDS, ACS and CCTV systems. System Installation and Deployment Installation: Work with Team Lead to execute the physical installation and configuration of ACS, IDS, CCTV surveillance systems at designated operational sites. Cabling and Infrastructure: Create cable pathways via cable trays, conduits, or underground. EO/IR Configuration: Perform initial setup, alignment, calibration, and bore-sight procedures for multi-sensor camera systems. System Integration: Integrate proprietary sensor systems with local network infrastructure and command-and-control (C2) interfaces, ensuring seamless data flow back to the operations center. Acceptance Testing: Perform rigorous site acceptance testing (SAT) and functional checks to verify system performance meets technical specifications and documented requirements. Maintenance and Sustainment Preventive and Corrective Maintenance: Execute scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) and rapidly diagnose and repair complex system failures (corrective maintenance). Specialized Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot issues down to the component level, including ACS control panels, IDS control Panels, CCTV Servers, NVRs, Card Readers, BMS Door Strikes, Motion Sensors and more. System Upgrades: Perform hardware and software upgrades, patches, and modifications to deployed systems, adhering to strict configuration management (CM) protocols. Inventory Management: Manage, track, and secure spare parts, specialized tools, and test equipment (TMDE) inventory for assigned systems and deployment sites. Documentation Documentation: Maintain comprehensive, accurate records of all maintenance actions, repairs, system configurations, and logbook entries in the designated maintenance management system. Safety Compliance: Ensure all installation and maintenance activities adhere to strict industry, client, and local safety standards, especially when working at heights (towers, mast installations).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field. (Extensive field experience may substitute for a degree.)
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in the installation and repair of complex electronic systems, with a minimum of 2 years supporting DoD or large-scale federal surveillance systems (e.g., radar, C4ISR, sensor platforms).
  • Must possess or be immediately eligible to receive an Active DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Expert-level knowledge of Access Control, Intrusion Detection and CCTV.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in troubleshooting network communications (TCP/IP, serial links), Card Readers, Door Strikes, Motion Sensor, Cameras, DVRs, Controllers, etc.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Proficiency with test equipment (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers).
  • Must be willing and able to travel frequently (up to 50%).
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work safely at heights and in various environmental conditions (extreme heat/cold).
