About The Position

The Installation and Service Technician Smart Business III is responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of all low voltage systems for new and existing customers. These services are crucial for customer service experience and satisfaction. As the first full-time security presence in Cheyenne, this role also involves building and maintaining local relationships and working directly with project management and coordination to complete tasks.

Requirements

• Advanced troubleshooting skills with no assistance.
• Ability to effectively troubleshoot Fire, CCTV, Access, and intrusion on all levels.
• Ability to read and install systems per design drawings and sales proposals.
• Ability to lead a job and provide direction and guidance to fellow technicians.
• High level of efficiency, attention to detail, quality control, and teamwork with the ability to lead projects and control costs.
• Proficient computer skills and basic electrical knowledge.
• High School diploma or GED.
• 5–7 years of experience in the security industry.
• Must have NICET or CSA II and 3–5 years of experience in the industry OR 10+ years of experience in the industry with a strong focus on fire alarm.
• Must obtain and reinstate an alarm agent license.
• Must maintain a clean driving record at all times and report any issues within 24 hours to your manager.
• Must possess all necessary hand tools to complete daily tasks.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in specific systems such as Qolsys, Digital Watchdog, Brivo, and various fire alarm systems such as Notifier, Fire-Lite, Kidde, and Fireshield.

Responsibilities

• Install and program security, fire, access, and CCTV systems in commercial properties with no assistance.
• Lead fire alarm install jobs up to and including final inspection and close out.
• Ensure coordination of final inspection and all other stakeholders as handled by the coordination department.
• Install or add basic electrical outlets when required.
• Read and understand blueprints and schematics with the ability to create as-builds and delegate tasks.
• Maintain communication with the project manager and coordinate in real time to address scheduling or other job-related issues.
• Communicate with customers in full regarding the current job and any changes or issues.
• Maintain relationships with major accounts and multi-location accounts to ensure satisfaction and retention.
• Perform fire alarm inspections, identifying deficiencies and upgrade opportunities.
• Perform repairs, maintenance, and upgrades for fire alarms, security alarms, CCTV, and access systems.
• Ensure all delegates assigned to a job or ticket have clocked time correctly and all job costs have been applied.
• Create reports for customer and agency documentation and submittal.
• Support service advisors, key account coordinators, and customer support representatives.
• Assist with training and development of technicians and assist the sales team with site walks.
• Maintain relationships with municipal and state fire authorities for licensing and inspections.
• Interface with monitoring center management.
• Stay in compliance with company training, policies, and procedures.
