At Freddie Mac, you will do important work to build a better housing finance system and you'll be part of a team helping to make homeownership and rental housing more accessible and affordable across the nation. This position ensures the quality, efficiency and timeliness of new installations and moves. Responsible for planning and coordinating major installations, performing installation, implementation, and upgrades of internal systems, and assisting in resolving suitable software to meet user requirements. The role also involves fixing software and hardware failures, identifying network problems related to personal IT hardware, and maintaining an inventory of all equipment, hardware, software, and supplies. The position requires full use and application of standard principles, theories, concepts, and techniques, providing resolutions to an assortment of problems under normal supervision. Work is primarily intra-organizational with occasional inter-organizational and external customer contacts on routine matters. This position is 2nd shift Monday - Friday 4pm - 12:00am with no flexible work arrangement.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of standards, policies, and guidelines for data center layout/design and environment management.
  • Research issues with policies and procedures and may draft policies and procedures for approval.
  • Project management and support for construction and retirement of IT spaces and equipment installation/de-installation.
  • Determine how to configure a space within the limits of the building, ensuring hot and heavy equipment has enough cooling and is accessible.
  • Assist with monthly and yearly asset management reporting, including asset receivables and verifications of asset receipts for invoice payments.
  • Handle asset disposal and verification of e-waste certification of end-of-life equipment.
  • Develop and maintain databases, configuration & connectivity diagrams, and spreadsheets of IT assets and IT spaces.
  • Provide first line support for Data Center and computer rooms.
  • Maintain safety and security of Data Center and Computer rooms.
  • Write and maintain operational procedures in Data Center/Computer rooms.
  • Install / Rack and stack hardware (switches, servers, appliances, etc.).
  • Install / Test / troubleshoot cabling (copper and fiber).
  • Maintain inventory for equipment and keep records of warranty for all tools and equipment.
  • Centralized receiving and asset management.
  • Escort vendors.
  • Knowledgeable about SAN Storage, Network Operations, Telecommunications, and other operations support functions.
  • 4 years' experience in Data Center.
  • Bachelor's degree in information systems or related field.
  • Proven understanding of Sunbird dcTrack and ServiceNow.
  • Superb interpersonal skills.
  • Familiar with MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Word, Visio).
  • Working knowledge of telecommunications technologies, systems, and circuits.
  • Demonstrable ability to manufacture and install data center compliant cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, fiber).
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, Power, Security building systems operations and safety.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
