About The Position

Job description: Job Title: Install Technician Department: HVAC Install Objective: Install and perform CTS on residential HVAC equipment while maintain customer satisfaction and generating cross departmental opportunities. Help enforce company policies and help with information gathering. Reports to: General Manager Supervises: N/A Parallel Work Relationships: Service Department, Warehouse Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Includes, but not limited to) The essential function of the Install Technician is to provide general HVAC installation, CTS, minor troubleshooting. This position handles new installations to customer homes and utilizes customer service training to educate and assist customers in explanation/operation of new equipment and finance options for additional opportunities. They will also handle calls from other install teams to get everyone done in a timely manner. Responsibilities : · By working closely with the installation manager, warehouse manager and installation apprentices, you will complete jobs on time and under budget, helping achieve the company’s financial goals. Know how to establish customer rapport to ensure highest levels of satisfaction. Show yourself as professional and knowledgeable to win new referrals and repeat business. Ensure jobs are properly staged; sign off on job quality checklist. Work alongside customer service and dispatch to ensure overall success of the business. Adhere to the company’s plan for resolving customer complaints quickly and favorably. Maintain a clean, organized job site and well inventoried truck. Participate actively in all training exercises, morning meetings, and technical vendor training. Train and mentor apprentices to ensure on-time, high quality installations. Be accurate and timely with invoices, time cards, curbside feedback and option sheets. Knowledge : · Mechanical: knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance. · Design: knowledge of tools and principles of design in the production of technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models. · English Language: knowledge of the English language and ability to communicate effectively. Technical Skills : · Troubleshooting: determine problems and how to solve them. · Repairing: repairing machines or systems using the needed tools. · Equipment Maintenance: performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when components needed replaced. · Installation: installation of 80%/90% gas, oil, propane and electric furnaces of all makes, as well as air conditioning, heat pump and mini split systems, zoning systems and rooftop units, all manufactured type humidifiers, air cleaners, UV lamps and thermostats. · Sheet Metal: lay out and fabrication of standard sheet metal fittings and duct board fittings. Personal Skills : · Nexstar Service Systems: completion of Nexstar Service System Boot camp required. · Active Listening: giving customer your full attention, asking appropriate questions, and not interrupting them. · Customer Service: Knowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent customer service Physical ability : · Flexibility: twisting, bending, stretching or reaching with your body, arms, or legs. · Finger Dexterity: ability to grasp, manipulate or assemble small objects · Manual Dexterity: hand and arm movements necessary to grasp, manipulate or assemble objects · Problem Sensitivity: ability to tell when something is going or likely to go wrong · Arm-Hand Steadiness · Inductive Reasoning: ability to combine pieces of information to for a general conclusion · Core and Trunk Strength · Physical Demands: regular sitting, standing, walking, bending, and lifting for prolonged periods of time.
