About The Position
One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning is hiring an HVAC Install Helper / Install Apprentice in Kill Devil Hills, NC. We’re looking for reliable, motivated individuals who want to learn a skilled trade and grow with a trusted HVAC company. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in the HVAC trade while gaining hands-on experience working alongside experienced installers in the Outer Banks. What You’ll Do: Assist lead installers with HVAC system installations (such as air conditioners, heat pumps, furnaces, ductwork, etc.) Load, unload, and organize tools, materials, and equipment Assist with ductwork, basic wiring, and mechanical setup under supervision Maintain clean, safe, and organized job sites Follow safety guidelines and company procedures Communicate respectfully with homeowners and team members
Requirements
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Interest in pursuing a long-term HVAC career
- Ability to work outdoors and in attics/crawlspaces
- Physically able to lift and carry HVAC equipment and materials
- Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to pass a background check
Nice To Haves
- Any experience in construction, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or mechanical work
- Familiarity with hand and power tools
