About The Position

We’re hiring a Media Buying Lead & Marketing Director to scale Richard Yu’s personal brand using Instagram shoutouts, organic-style ad creatives, and story-driven marketing. This is a hands-on performance role—not a corporate CMO gig. You’ll be writing, buying, analyzing, and optimizing daily. Requirements

  • Highly analytical with a love for spreadsheets, dashboards, and performance trends.
  • Execution-focused and willing to do the work, not just manage a team.
  • Creative with copy, able to write engaging content that drives action.
  • Organized and able to track everything: page performance, ad spend, DM volume, booking rates.
  • Adaptable and able to pivot off data quickly.
  • Clear communicator, able to coordinate with various teams without drama.
  • Experience spending $10K–$100K+ on media buys, ideally including influencer or shoutout deals.
  • Experience building systems for tracking ROI, lead flow, and media performance.
  • Experience working with high-ticket offer creators or digital brands.
  • Experience writing short-form ad creatives and/or high-converting captions.
  • Experience working with or inside a high-performance sales team.

Responsibilities

  • Focus on buying Instagram shoutouts, writing creatives, and reviewing performance.
  • Negotiate and buy shoutouts from niche Instagram pages.
  • Write native-style posts, reels, and carousels designed to generate high-DM volume.
  • Track page performance daily—DMs, follower growth, cost per lead, and quality of traffic.
  • Maintain a master database of top-performing shoutout pages.
  • Write or test 1–2 new creatives every day, informed by performance metrics.
  • Work directly with the sales team to assess lead quality and adjust spend accordingly.
  • Iterate fast based on what’s converting and cut what isn’t.
