About The Position

The Quality Inspector is responsible for inspecting and testing parts to ensure that they meet dimensional and functional specifications.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Self-starter.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Must be team oriented, possess a positive attitude, and collaborate effectively with others to achieve goals in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Comfortable with computer applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, and proprietary TVH application programs).
  • Proficiency with measuring tools (digital calipers, micrometers, etc.) and reading an inch/metric tape measure.
  • Read and comprehend machine/technical drawings.
  • Keen organizational skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.
  • Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
  • Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style.
  • Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management
  • Must be fluent in reading and writing in English.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is required.
  • Possibly lift and carry 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Manual dexterity and technical ability to assemble/disassemble part assemblies.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for inspecting and testing parts to ensure that they meet dimensional and functional specifications.
  • Complete inspection reports using the Levels of Inspection or CRM Report computer software.
  • Process parts by creating a Non-Conforming Report for parts that have been determined to be defective, incomplete or incorrect.
  • Assist with First Article Inspections as needed.
  • Look for trends in recurring defects for all inspected parts.
  • Utilize 5S practices (sort, straighten, clean, organize, and sustain the inspection workspace).
  • Assist with non-conforming projects (clarifications) as needed.
  • Work as a liaison between Quality and Production (Receiving and Packaging Departments when needed).
  • Include suggestions on packaging/kitting when noticing that a part could benefit from it.
  • Perform special assignments on occasion.
  • Warehouse work.
  • Computer usage at the desk.
  • Moves between office, warehouse, production, and inspection areas to perform tasks.
