About The Position

The Department of Design & Construction, Division of Infrastructure, is currently seeking Inspectors to join our Construction Management - Southeast Queens - Section 2 team. Successful candidates will report to an Engineer-In-Charge and/or Resident Engineer and conduct technical inspections of construction, repair, and maintenance projects. These projects will involve roadways, sewers, pavements, and sidewalks. Specific responsibilities include assessing the grading, paving, and repaving of streets, connections to house sewers, retaining walls, and the maintenance of water, sewer, and utility manholes.

Requirements

• Only candidates who are permanent in the Assistant Civil Engineer title or those who are reachable on the Open-Competitive lists (exam #1101 or exam #5015) may apply.
• Please include a copy of your Notice of Results or indicate if you are already permanent in the title.
• Authorization to work in the United States is required for this position.
• A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in civil engineering and one year of full-time satisfactory experience in civil engineering work; or
• A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and a Master's degree from an accredited college in civil engineering.
