About The Position

Responsible for inspecting in-process and finished parts to ensure that customer requirements are met.

Requirements

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be proficient in current computer software.
• Must be able to lift parts and other items from floor to waist on a frequent basis, while protecting lifted items from damage. Parts weigh 50 lbs. on an occasional basis, 35 lbs. on a frequent basis.
• Must be able to stand for several consecutive hours without rest, with frequent bending and reaching.
• Must be able to tolerate a hot work environment seasonally, when summer outdoor temperatures combine with residual heat from machines.
• Must be able to walk within and between areas frequently and climb stairs occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings, control plans, process instructions, and work instructions to determine sample quantities and features to be inspected for lots of parts with supervision.
• Use micrometers, calipers, visual inspection, and other gauges as required to complete planned inspections with supervision.
• Identify and report conditions that do not meet requirements and approve acceptable parts for shipment or further processing.
• Transfer rejected parts to staging area and log data into the ERP system.
• Verify implementation of appropriate corrective action for quality issues.
• Use micrometers, calipers, and other gauges as required.
• Maintain clean work areas and orderly storage of fixtures, gauges, and special inspection equipment.
• Wear personal protective equipment and follow safety instructions as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
