About The Position

This Inspector position on B Shift involves performing product inspection and tests using established procedures, including gauging, visual, and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) techniques. Key responsibilities include writing non-conformance reports, auditing documentation, and recommending corrective actions. The role requires using a color code system for material identification and achieving/maintaining NDT level II certification. The Inspector will collaborate with engineering, quality, operators, and customer representatives, and perform material handling duties such as fork truck operation and rigging with cranes. Effective written and oral communication, accurate record-keeping, and the ability to read engineering drawings and specifications are essential. The position also requires using gauging equipment, performing calculations, and utilizing computers.

Requirements

  • 2-year post-secondary degree in Machine Tool Technology or Welding Technology and basic computer knowledge and experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar position of inspection and/or NDT requiring the use of prints, gauges, and quality forms and basic computer knowledge and experience
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and wear PPE (safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, etc.) with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Willingness to work B shift (3:30 PM - 2:00 AM; Monday - Thursaday)
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening
  • Successful completion of a drug screen (as applicable)

Responsibilities

  • Perform product inspection and tests according to established procedures, using gauging, visual and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) techniques, as required
  • Clearly write non-conformance reports
  • Audit procedures and documentation
  • Assist in providing recommendations for corrective actions
  • Use color code system for material identification, as required
  • Achieve and maintain NDT level II certification
  • Interface with team members including engineering, quality, operators, and customer representatives
  • Perform material handling duties as required [fork truck operation may be required]
  • Safely perform required rigging tasks and lifts using cranes and related equipment
  • Communicate effectively (both written and oral) and work well with others
  • Maintain accurate written and computer records
  • Read and understand engineering drawings and specifications
  • Use gauging equipment as required for the position
  • Perform calculations as required for the position
  • Use computers as required for the position
  • Perform other duties as assigned
