About The Position

The Inspector inspects and tests machined and fabricated parts for defects, wear, and deviations from customer specifications. Use precision measuring instruments and complex test equipment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities This is a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities and is not all inclusive. Incumbent(s) may and may be required to perform additional, position-specific tasks. Partner with various operations (machining, forging and heat treating) to inspect parts and dies using a wide range of gauges and inspection devices. Analyze and interpret blueprints, data, manuals, and other materials to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures, adjustment and certification methods, formulas, and measuring instruments required. Inspect, test, or measure materials, products, installations, or work for conformance to specifications Record inspection or test data and quantities inspected Measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers Analyze test data, making computations as necessary, to determine test results Performs all other duties as assigned. Must be able to learn and follow company procedures and work instructions. Maintains a safe and organized workstation; follows all company policies and procedures. Minimum of one year working in a manufacturing environment. Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. Green Card Holder), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating mobile equipment.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Proficiency with QPulse and Microsoft Office.
  • More than two years working in a manufacturing environment.
