About The Position

STV’s Transportation group in Chicago, IL is seeking experienced transportation construction inspector with experience on CTA, CDOT, Tollway, IDOT, and/or bridge construction and rehabilitation projects. We have upcoming needs for multiple construction inspector positions on Full-Time and Part-Time, short-term and long-term projects for the Chicago Region clients. Positions require 5+ years of experience on Civil, buildings, RR track and or bridge construction inspection projects. OSHA training or certification a plus. A HS Diploma (or GED) and relevant technical highway or bridge construction or construction inspection experience is required. An AS or BS in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is preferred. Requirements

  • 5+ years of construction inspection and/or management experience with Civil, buildings and or bridge construction inspection projects.
  • Experienced with Excel and Microsoft Word and CTA Trimble, EBuilder, websites experience a plus.
  • Concrete, Asphalt, Traffic Control, Track experience and OSHA Construction Safety and/or other related certifications a plus.
  • Possess strong written, verbal, and basic computer skills, excel, word, emails.
  • A HS Diploma (or GED) and relevant technical highway or bridge construction or construction inspection experience is required.

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA training or certification a plus.
  • An AS or BS in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare inspection reports on work in progress and completed work.
  • Ability to review contractor’s procedures, materials, and work product for conformance with CTA specifications.
  • Willingness to work in a safe manner and within company, project, and OSHA safety guidelines on a civil/bridge/rail construction site.
  • Be able to work nights and weekends and possess a valid driver’s license and vehicle.
  • Ability and willingness to attend training / classes to obtain additional inspection and safety certifications
