About The Position

STV’s Transportation group in Chicago, IL is seeking experienced transportation construction inspector with experience on CTA, CDOT, Tollway, IDOT, and/or bridge construction and rehabilitation projects. We have upcoming needs for multiple construction inspector positions on Full-Time and Part-Time, short-term and long-term projects for the Chicago Region clients. Positions require 5+ years of experience on Civil, buildings, RR track and or bridge construction inspection projects. OSHA training or certification a plus. A HS Diploma (or GED) and relevant technical highway or bridge construction or construction inspection experience is required. An AS or BS in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is preferred. Requirements

5+ years of construction inspection and/or management experience with Civil, buildings and or bridge construction inspection projects.
Experienced with Excel and Microsoft Word and CTA Trimble, EBuilder, websites experience a plus.
Concrete, Asphalt, Traffic Control, Track experience and OSHA Construction Safety and/or other related certifications a plus.
Possess strong written, verbal, and basic computer skills, excel, word, emails.
A HS Diploma (or GED) and relevant technical highway or bridge construction or construction inspection experience is required.

Nice To Haves

OSHA training or certification a plus.
An AS or BS in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare inspection reports on work in progress and completed work.
Ability to review contractor’s procedures, materials, and work product for conformance with CTA specifications.
Willingness to work in a safe manner and within company, project, and OSHA safety guidelines on a civil/bridge/rail construction site.
Be able to work nights and weekends and possess a valid driver’s license and vehicle.
Ability and willingness to attend training / classes to obtain additional inspection and safety certifications
