About The Position

Provides supervision and direction for all Housekeeping activities of the hotel to ensure the high levels of cleanliness and guest satisfaction are maintained. This role involves cleaning, inspecting, and punching rooms daily to ensure brand standards for room cleanliness are always met. The Inspector will also train new housekeepers in all Olshan SOPs and equipment usage, handle special requests for guests, and assign or perform daily cleaning projects such as deep cleaning or VIP rooms. Adherence to all room key controls and proper storage of lost and found items are essential. Regular attendance and compliance with hotel rules and regulations are required. Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, varying schedules may be required. Additionally, the position may involve maintaining inventories of amenities, chemicals, and other supplies, coordinating with laundry for linen, and working in any area of the Housekeeping department if needed.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write and speak the English language fluently.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and pleasantly with guests and staff as is necessary to effectively run the department.
  • Able to set priorities, plan and organize.
  • Ability to continuously move throughout building for an 8+ hour period, bend, stoop and reach to assist other housekeeping staff to complete their individual tasks if situation demands.
  • Ability to grasp, lift, carry or otherwise move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and additional training to acquire required knowledge and skills.
  • Minimum two years housekeeping experience in hotel industry.
  • Minimum one year as housekeeping supervisor.
  • Maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance in accordance with Olshan standards.
  • Professional attire required.

Responsibilities

  • Clean, inspect and punch rooms daily and ensure brand standards for room cleanliness are always met.
  • Train new housekeepers in all Olshan SOPs and equipment usage.
  • Handle special requests for guests to include, but not limited to, getting extra towels, blankets, etc.
  • Assign and/or perform daily cleaning projects as directed by the manager/ supervisor. Example: deep cleaning, VIP rooms.
  • Adhere to all room key controls and assign keys per SOPs and company standards.
  • Record and properly store all lost and found items in accordance with company policies.
  • Maintain inventories of amenities, chemicals and other supplies to insure items are in stock and reorders in timely manner.
  • Coordinate with laundry to ensure rooms linen is picked up and delivered to meet guest needs.
  • May need to work in any area of Housekeeping department in case the need arises.
