About The Position

STV is seeking a Construction Inspector for our Transportation Northeast department in Hartford, CT No sponsorships are available for this position Responsibilities: Inspect construction activities related to highway/bridges, facilities/buildings, or rail/transit projects. Ensure compliance with contract documents, specifications, and regulatory requirements by reviewing and verifying contractor submissions. Identify and document nonconforming work and ensure timely corrective action Review project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, daily reports, and change orders. Complete daily work reports with photographs and progress documentation Track and document quantities of work performed by the contractor Resolve construction problems and challenges in the field Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including contractors, engineers, and agency representatives, to facilitate project success. Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science with 1 year of experience or NICET Level 1 with 2 years of experience in construction engineering and inspection. Experience on transportation infrastructure projects preferred. Strong understanding of CTDOT CEI processes, contract administration, and construction documentation. Knowledge of construction materials and methods Ability to perform complex quantity and engineering computations. Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Valid driver’s license and ability to work on-site as needed. Preferred Qualifications: Working knowledge of COMPASS and AASHTOWare Project NETTCP – Concrete Inspector, ACI – Concrete Certification, NETTCP – HMA Paving Inspector, NACE, AMP, or BCI – Coating Inspector, and ATSSA Traffic Control Supervisor certifications. Requirements
