About The Position

Techno is seeking an experienced Inspector to support a major water and wastewater infrastructure project in the Washington, DC area. This role focuses on field inspection and oversight of construction activities, ensuring work is completed in accordance with project specifications, regulatory requirements, and quality standards. You will be on-site working closely with contractors, engineers, and project teams to monitor progress, verify installations, and support the successful delivery of critical water infrastructure systems. This position is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in water or wastewater projects and strong field coordination skills.

Requirements

  • Experience inspecting water or wastewater infrastructure projects required
  • General understanding of construction methods related to utilities, piping systems, and treatment facilities
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents
  • Experience with field inspection procedures, quality assurance processes, and construction documentation
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with contractors and project teams

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Oracle Unifier or similar project management systems is a plus
  • OSHA training or other safety certifications preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily field inspections across water and wastewater construction activities, including civil and utility work
  • Monitor contractor operations to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, safety standards, and applicable regulations
  • Observe installation of systems such as piping, valves, and related infrastructure to confirm proper methods and materials
  • Document field activities, track deficiencies, and provide clear updates on progress and site conditions
  • Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and contractors to resolve field issues and maintain project flow
  • Support testing, startup, and commissioning activities as needed
  • Maintain accurate inspection reports, logs, and project documentation
  • Promote adherence to safety requirements and support a safe jobsite environment
