JOB SUMMARY The OSP (Outside Plant) Construction Inspector will be responsible for overseeing the construction and installation of outside plant facilities for telecommunications networks. The inspector will ensure that all work is completed according to industry standards and specifications and will work closely with contractors and other stakeholders to ensure that projects are completed safely, on time, with respect to private property, and within the project plan.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications in fiber optics are a plus.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience or training in OSP construction and installation.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and specifications
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software
  • Valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the construction and installation of outside plant facilities for telecommunications networks.
  • Ensure that all work is completed according to OSHA safety standards, industry standards, and current network design.
  • Work closely with contractors and other stakeholders to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Perform quality control inspections to ensure that work meets standards and specifications.
  • Identify and resolve any issues or problems that arise during construction.
  • Ensure construction crews are clearly identified as contractors for Ezee Fiber, including vest, ID badges, and vehicle magnets.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of all construction activities.
  • Provide regular progress reports to management and other stakeholders as required.
  • Communicate with all peers and departments to ensure proper project planning.
