About The Position

· Responsible for preparing and assisting in the performance for various non-destructive tests such as FPI on gas turbine engine components to determine materials flaws and discontinuities. · Work from process travelers and instructions and prepare part for Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI), Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI), X-Ray (RT) as non-destructive means of locating and determining the severity of surface discontinuities in aircraft parts. Receive guidance Level II or III when needed. · Apply proper agents such as cleaners, penetrants, and developers, etc. to parts to prepare for testing. Follow prescribed procedures for non-destructive testing. Make adjustments and modifications to testing equipment to meet required specifications in engine manuals, ensuring proper and accurate testing of parts. · Perform testing operations following specified procedures outlined in manuals, identifying and marking discontinuities. · Obtain and maintain Level I proficiency in at least one of the five certifications for non-destructive testing of parts. · Moderate physical demand that requires lifting or moving material over 25 lbs and up to 60 lbs.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and technical documents
