See how your contributions will help transform vision into reality: Position Overview: The Quality Lab Technician is a key member of the Quality team and will be involved in quality investigations, process improvements, and driving change throughout the Fort Wayne value stream. The Quality Lab Technician will be responsible for performing First Article Inspections, measuring and inspecting suspect non-conforming material, maintaining quality lab tools and test equipment and maintaining metrology standards. At Brunswick, we have passion for our work and a distinct ability to deliver. Essential Functions: Meet Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for safety and quality. Support quality issues, escalating problems as needed, and providing recommendations for improvements or product dispositions Perform First Article Inspections and provide detailed reports Manage lab inventory and supplies Create work instructions for lab procedures Maintain calibration and gauge R&R metrology standards Develop and maintain electrical test equipment Conduct product, process and system audits in plant Other duties as assigned Diversity of thought and experiences is fundamental when imagining the unimaginable. Certain skillsets/experiences are necessary; however, others can be developed along the way.

Requirements

  • Experience with measuring equipment including tape measures, gauges, scales, calipers, spectrophotometer, and 3D measuring equipment
  • Engineering drawing reading
  • Excellent verbal and technical written communication skills.
  • Must be able to interact with a diverse group of people to create an environment that is equitable, inclusive, and cooperative. This will include engineers and suppliers
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with CAD, SolidWorks, and PolyWorks
  • Strong mathematical/spatial skills
  • High aattention to detail
  • Wire crimping and hand tool usage
  • Ability to work independently
  • Problem solving
  • Positive attitude and team player
  • Demonstrated drive for continuous learning and development
  • Knowledge of 5S and safety standards
  • Two years or relevant experience in Quality Assurance and/or Manufacturing or Engineering
  • Direct experience and knowledge root cause analysis, specifically as is related to quality
  • Knowledge of general manufacturing processes, in order to identify causes of poor product quality and potential concerns during product launches

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but will consider equivalent work experience
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Preferred
