The Aircraft Inspector monitors and evaluates all maintenance actions to ensure safe and reliable aircraft are provided in accordance with current technical manuals, directives, and instructions applicable to the maintenance program. Monitor safety, conduct surveillance/spot checks, and work center audits as directed by the Quality Assurance Manager and contract requirements. Quality Control / Quality Assurance Inspectors will be under the direct supervision of the Quality Manager. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Monitors contract compliance with all maintenance activities through the audit and surveillance requirements as defined in the Quality Assurance Manual. Performs final inspections of all maintenance actions involving the safety of flight or requiring certification by an Aircraft Inspector, except ejection seats and canopy systems. Investigates safety incidents and assists in the preparation of Engineering Investigation Request, Quality Deficiency Reports, Hazardous Material Reports, Technical Publications Deficiency Reports, and Explosive Mishap Reports required Review applicable maintenance forms and deficiency data to determine discrepancy trends and specific problem areas. Assists in the drafting and development of work instructions, maintenance instructions, local maintenance requirement cards, and routine and continuing correspondence to all work centers detailing maintenance and program procedures and requirements. May be assigned as subject matter expert (SME) or training instructor as required. Responsible for the establishment of the daily FCF board, briefing, and de-briefing the FCF pilots. Assists in the preparation of the Quality Assurance Monthly Data Requirements List (CDRL's). Assists in preparation of weekly/monthly/quarterly Quality Assurance Control Status Report for inclusion in the report to the Program Management Office. Operates NALCOMIS OOMA database information system. Review incoming technical publications and directives to determine their application to the Maintenance Department. Deals with the customer in a courteous, professional, and effective manner. Complies with and monitors all established general and industrial safety rules and regulations as applicable to the contract, facility, and job assignment. Assists as directed to ensure the safety, security, and preservation of government/company-owned equipment. Maintains the cleanliness of the work center. Complies with Foreign Object Damage (FOD), Hazardous waste, Egress Familiarization, Hydraulic Contamination, Oil Surveillance, and tool control programs. Furnishes own hand tools. Performs other related duties as assigned by management. Works harmoniously with other employees, promoting teamwork and cooperation.
