About The Position

The back up operator is an apprenticeship program. The back up will be used to perform duties when fill in is needed such as vacations or call offs. The back up will be pulled from their existing classification to work as a backup operator and given step up pay. Once the fill-in tasks are complete and the operator who was being filled in for has returned the backup operator will return to their existing job duties and classification. All related paperwork Taking readings (all bottle measurements) Running the blow molder and all downstream components Cleaning molds Assist with changeovers Evaluates and takes appropriate action to maintain a safe work environment with established standards and guidelines. Inspect work areas, and look for unsafe acts/conditions. Effectively use verbal and written communications. Maintain a clean and safe working environment. Perform sweeping, cleaning, sorting duties as necessary. Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds continuously throughout the shift.
  • Work involves continuous lifting, bending, reaching and twisting.
  • Willingness to be trained on the following before starting their duties: Blow mold basics 6 wk. Operator Training Course
  • Subject to a formal evaluation at 3 weeks, 6 weeks, and additional periodic intervals by the Trainer, and Supervisor and decisions will be made accordingly.
  • This position requires the cognitive and mental ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.

  • Mechanical Aptitude a plus.
