About The Position

We are developing the future of Army Aviation with the Bell Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) part of the US Army's Future Vertical Lift (FVL) modernization effort. We are also developing the Bell 525 Relentless and Bell's High-Speed Vertical Take-Off and Landing (HSVTOL) program, a next generation aircraft. This position is onsite in Wichita, Kansas supporting the FLRAA structures build.

Requirements

  • Experience in Digital Design Systems such as but not limited to 3DX, CATIA V5, V6 etc.
  • GD&T Rev AMSE Y14.5 - 2009 or higher.
  • Strong working knowledge of Enovia, CAMS and VQM.
  • Familiar in AS9102 for First Article Inspection process and requirements is preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least 2 years of experience in assembly inspection / quality role at an aerospace, defense, or metal/composites fabrication facility.
  • 1 year of aircraft assembly experience, Bell assembly experience a plus.
  • Preferred knowledge of precision measuring instruments and special alignments.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect parts, assemblies and aircrafts by visual examination or with precision measurement instruments for the FLRAA aircraft.
  • Inspect jigs, fixtures, installations, materials, finishes, fittings, dimensions, and layouts.
  • Prepare parts, assemblies and installation digital data packages for Customer review and acceptance.
  • Operate special kinds of testing instruments and equipment as required.
  • Work from complicated or detailed blueprints, diagrams, Digital Design Systems (PEO & 3DX), etc., to obtain proper specifications.
  • May be assigned to various assembly inspection groups or to other phases of inspection related to aircraft structure acceptance.
  • Approve acceptable work or reject all work which fails to meet required standards and recommend corrective action to prevent recurrence.
  • Coordinate with various groups and organizations for acceptance.
  • Communicate via verbal, written and visual (spreadsheets and charts) with Engineers, Configuration Control and members of the Customer organizations frequently as part of normal quality operations.
  • Perform first article inspections in 3DX, and present parts/assemblies to members of the Customer Team (DCMA, Army and SRD) for acceptance inspections.
