About The Position

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least one year of customer service experience or relevant education in construction and development.
• Basic math skills and ability to perform calculations and interpret formulas.
• Ability to read and understand technical documents, plans, and specifications.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Computer skills for report writing, data entry, and documentation.

Nice To Haves

• Some construction work experience preferred for trades related to residential and/or commercial.
• Exposure to building codes, planning or zoning regulations, or real estate-related functions.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a structured apprenticeship program for training as a Level I Inspector.
• Inspect residential and small commercial construction projects up to 20,000 square feet.
• Interpret and apply applicable North Carolina Codes including Building, Plumbing, Mechanical, Energy Conservation, and Manufactured Home codes.
• Engage in FEMA Emergency Response training and protocols.
• Complete both field training and online technical training as scheduled.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
