About The Position

The Inspector Apprentice position at Cox Automotive involves verifying vehicle identification and entering accurate vehicle information into the inspection system. Responsibilities include inspecting vehicle equipment and options, documenting results including damage, previous repairs, and structural damage, as well as inspecting and recording the vehicle's exterior and interior condition. The role also requires completing and verifying data entry in support of documentation of vehicle condition and performing other duties as needed, such as jump starting vehicles and moving vehicles.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Generally, less than 2 years of experience.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Safe drivers needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to drive standard and automatic transmission vehicles.
  • Minimal knowledge of automotive body and mechanical work.
  • 0-1 years of body shop, mechanical, claims adjuster or estimating experience.
  • Ability to multitask and must be detail oriented.
  • Experience in navigating handheld and other documentation devices.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to pass Inspector Certification Exam within 90 days.

Responsibilities

  • Verify vehicle identification and enter accurate vehicle information into the inspection system.
  • Inspect vehicle equipment and options, documenting results including damage, previous repairs, structural damage, missing or inoperable items.
  • Inspect and record vehicle exterior condition, including tires, frame, glass, panels, and mechanical components.
  • Inspect and record the vehicle interior condition, including seats, dashboard, and options.
  • Complete and verify data entry in support of documentation of vehicle condition.
  • Perform other duties as needed, such as jump starting vehicles and moving vehicles.
