Requirements

  • Two years related inspection, calibration or NDT experience or demonstrated ability to perform described responsibilities.
  • May be required to be certified as a Level II Nondestructive Test Inspector in magnetic particle inspection and/or liquid penetrant inspection. Certification must be in accordance with MIL‐STD‐410 and PES1‐29.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints, manufacturer's specifications and internal drawings and procedures.
  • Ability to use and/or calibrate mechanical, hydraulic and electrical instruments/gages.
  • Possess working knowledge of machine shop mathematics.
  • Knowledge of applicable military standards may be required.
  • Personal hand tools may be required.
  • May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must demonstrate effective verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up‐to‐date acceptance and rejection records and/or certifications systems as required by the applicable specifications.
  • Determine acceptance or rejection after inspection and/or calibration of parts.
  • Identify defective conditions and test failures and prepare all appropriate documentation and/or calibration history.
  • Perform inspection on detailed machined parts using a wide variety of measuring and test equipment to determine acceptability or rejections of parts and/or parts finish.
  • Interpret specifications, charts and manuals.
  • Use mathematics to convert blueprint dimensions and tolerances.
  • Work within the guidelines of drawings, schematics, blueprints, route sheets, travelers, quality directives, technical engineering specifications, customer's requirements and military standards and/or calibrations procedures.
  • Observe and perform audits of a moderate scope or complexity on assembly and test, machining and other functions for compliance to procedures.
  • Issue to or remove instruments/inspected parts from various areas.
  • Perform calibration of a moderate scope or complexity on various types of measuring and test equipment.
  • Use standards to make moderately complex set‐ups for calibration of measuring and test equipment.
  • Perform daily, weekly and monthly equipment and material checks.
  • Perform pre‐inspection and post‐inspection cleaning.
  • Set‐up equipment and conduct tests.
  • Perform complete inspections in accordance with applicable specifications, standards and other contractual documents.
  • Interpret, evaluate and document inspection results in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Observe all prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain a FOD free work area.
  • Perform other related responsibilities.
