The Inspector A&P position at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation involves performing inspections of aircraft and aircraft components, ensuring that all workmanship meets acceptable quality standards. The role is integral to the Quality Control/Assurance team, ensuring compliance with FAA/CAA requirements. The position requires working in a large hangar, with responsibilities that include completing inspections, coordinating mechanical and electrical requirements, and maintaining accurate records of work performed. The inspector must also mentor technicians and provide technical support to inspection personnel.

  • Responsible for Quality Control inspections on aircraft/components.
  • Completes inspections of aircraft, engine, and component repairs and alterations to ensure conformity to FAA approved/acceptable data.
  • Coordinates mechanical, electrical and inspection requirements on the aircraft during maintenance or outfitting.
  • Keeps accurate, neat and legible records of the work performed on aircraft/components.
  • Coordinates throughout assigned jobs with RTS to ensure accurate aircraft records are produced in a timely manner.
  • Conducts audits of maintenance documentation for accuracy and completion on all aircraft prior to approval for return to service.
  • Ensures aircraft/components are airworthy prior to any flight activities.
  • Mentors technicians on effective documentation.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 6 years aviation maintenance experience (avionics, electrical, and/or mechanical).
  • A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license required.
  • Strong computer skills necessary for various maintenance data and documentation software.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work from elevated positions including stands, ladders, lifts, and operations requiring fall harness.
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces.
  • Proficient in blueprint reading and interpretation, shop mathematics and QC Procedures.
  • Working knowledge and application of Quality Assurance and/or Quality Control systems and methodologies.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • G650 and/or newer model Flight Safety Initial is preferred, but not required.
