About The Position
The Inspector will promote a safe working environment and adhere to all Silgan safety policies and procedures to prevent injury to self and co-workers. The immediate responsibility includes ensuring that finished goods meet or exceed customer expectations. The Inspector will be responsible for identifying and classifying typical defects encountered, including critical defects that may cause package failure and result in unsafe conditions, major defects that may cause handling or performance problems, and minor defects that are aesthetically objectionable but do not cause package failure. The Inspector will alert the Operator to all defects for resolution and verify that packaging parameters are met according to the specifications sheet. Additionally, the Inspector will perform housekeeping duties to maintain a clean work area, assist in various tasks such as organizing, packing, and transporting materials, and support the Operator and Maintenance department as needed. The role requires effective communication and adherence to safety rules and procedures.
