About The Position
The Inspector will promote a safe working environment and adhere to all Silgan safety policies and procedures to prevent injury to self and co-workers. The immediate responsibility includes ensuring that finished goods meet or exceed customer expectations. The Inspector will be responsible for identifying and classifying typical defects encountered, including critical defects that may cause package failure and result in unsafe conditions, major defects that may cause handling or performance problems, and minor defects that are aesthetically objectionable but do not cause package failure. The Inspector will alert the Operator to all defects for resolution, verify that packaging parameters meet specifications, and perform any necessary rework safely. Housekeeping duties are also part of the role, including cleaning the work area and assisting in various tasks to promote a teamwork atmosphere. The Inspector will assist the Operator during machine startups, clear jams, and support the Maintenance department during planned maintenance. The role requires evaluating and taking appropriate action to maintain a safe work environment, inspecting work areas for unsafe acts or conditions, and maintaining effective communication.
