About The Position

Impact Fire Services is seeking an Inspections Supervisor to join our team in the Arlington, TX office. This position involves directly supervising our inspections team and reporting to the General Manager. The Inspections Supervisor will be responsible for hiring and performance management, managing the overall performance of the team, providing support to field crews and direct reports, and fostering a safe work environment. The role also includes resolving customer-related issues, maintaining customer satisfaction, managing operational issues affecting inspections, scheduling inspections with customers, and providing hands-on support to direct reports, including accompanying inspectors or visiting customers when necessary.

Requirements

  • Possess any necessary licensing and certification required by National, State and Local codes.
  • Minimum 3-5 years related experience either in the fire protection industry or the commercial customer service business; minimum 2 years demonstrated leadership or management experience preferred.
  • NICET or equivalent training from manufacturers or institutions.
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 13, 25.
  • Working knowledge of Fire sprinkler & alarm systems and devices.
  • Working knowledge of Inspection Processes & Procedures.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, programs schematics and operational/product manuals.
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools.
  • Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 40 lbs.
  • Proficiency with using PCs including working knowledge of MS Excel / Word as well as iPhone/iPad apps.
  • Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult position such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends to meet customer requirements.
  • Willingness to travel out of town including overnight lodging.
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service.
  • A strong work ethic and professional appearance.
  • Ability to work within a team environment.
  • Self-starter that can work with little to no supervision.
  • Strong organizational & prioritization skills, positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly.
  • Strong working knowledge of NFPA codes.
  • RME-I certification, strongly preferred.
  • Ability to adhere to, implement, and always follow safety guidelines and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the General Manager and other managers to develop financial and operational goals.
  • Ensure the effective operation of the Inspections Division and the efficiency of related personnel.
  • Establish productivity goals for technical and administrative goals that fit in with the tactical priorities of the division.
  • Achieve the assigned monthly goals for revenue and cost control and correct any budgetary deficiencies.
  • Lead the technical and administrative personnel in providing a high level of customer service.
  • Ensure that the technical personnel are highly trained in our services and products as well as safety.
  • Learn and ensure compliance with all applicable industry codes.
  • Protect the company's assets.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the General Manager or Managing Member.
