Performs work responsible for handling licenses within the City of Cape Girardeau. Essential Functions ● Responsible for all aspects of licenses including business, home occupation, security guard, taxicab, adult, temporary caterers, carnivals, circuses, hucksters, peddlers, travelers business license, liquor, temporary liquor, landland and trade licenses. ● Responsible for all aspect of permits for special events and outdoor music. ● Performs all billing for the SEMO District Fair and coordinate temporary liquor licenses and food vendor applications. ● Serves as a receptionist for both the permit counter and City Hall reception area; including checking voicemail boxes and forwarding to the appropriate person or return calls as necessary. ● Assist the City Clerk’s office with request for records, sunshine law and retention. ● As required schedule inspections, issue certificate of occupancies and stop work orders; ensure all necessary inspections are scheduled for the project and the permits are current. ● Responsible for filing, organizing and scanning documents for Inspections Division and City Clerk’s Office; including maintaining building plans and archives and assist on special projects as directed. ● Performs other related duties as assigned.
