About The Position

We are seeking a Plant-Wide Inspection Supervisor to lead inspection operations in support of stable, high-volume manufacturing. This role is responsible for ensuring product quality, process compliance, efficient inspection execution, and effective Gauge Lab management across the Bangor manufacturing site. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, a hands-on shop-floor presence, and a commitment to continuous improvement, standardization, and zero-defect performance. Job Description Roles and Responsibilities Lead and develop a team of approximately 20 quality inspectors supporting inspection and verification activities across Bangor manufacturing operations Drive safe, efficient, and consistent flow through inspection processes by implementing standard work, prioritization, and timely escalation of issues Ensure products and manufacturing processes comply with engineering drawings, specifications, quality standards, and global procedures Partner with manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams to support root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive actions Oversee the readiness, accuracy, and control of inspection equipment, tooling, and gauges used to verify product conformance Manage the Gauge Lab, including calibration coordination, gauge control, equipment availability, record accuracy, and compliance with applicable quality requirements Monitor inspection and quality performance metrics to identify trends, drive improvements, and reduce risk of nonconformance Ensure daily inspection activities are executed in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality requirements, and safety expectations Manage team performance, staffing priorities, and execution to meet production demands and quality objectives Lead inspection planning and execution to ensure all required measurement and verification activities are completed accurately and on time Foster a culture of accountability, problem-solving, continuous improvement, and zero-defect quality

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related technical field (OR High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 5 years of experience in inspection)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality inspection or quality control within a manufacturing environment

  • Prior experience leading or supervising inspection, quality, or manufacturing teams
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and quality requirements
  • Strong communication, organizational, and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Hands-on, shop-floor-oriented leadership style with the ability to solve problems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Experience with composite materials, structural products, or large industrial components
  • Familiarity with corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes and root cause problem-solving methods
  • Experience with inspection planning, measurement systems, and quality documentation
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or standard work practices
