Job Summary: The Inspection Supervisor leads and directs a team of employees in assigned areas of inspection operations, including receiving inspection and final inspection. This role is responsible for implementing and managing quality assurance efforts to ensure supplier components, materials, and finished goods meet quality standards based on organizational and customer requirements. The Inspection Supervisor is accountable for maintaining a safe working environment, adhering to quality and operational standards, and achieving area safety, quality, delivery, cost, and growth metrics. This position may involve supervising and training employees across multiple shifts

Requirements

  • Experience: 2+ years closely related work experience in the defense, space electronics or high-end aerospace industry; 2+ years leadership experience
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of Quality Management Systems as well as Process Improvement and Control Techniques; Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing best practices, process control, logistics processes (inventory management), engineering management (project management) and safety management
  • Skills/Abilities: Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills; Effective written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills; Ability to manage through influence; Ability to demonstrate a strong sense of urgency
  • Education/Certification: B.A. or B.S. degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, operations management or related field
  • Eligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)

Nice To Haves

  • Certified ISO/AS lead assessor credentials
  • Experience with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Previous supervisory experience within an aerospace or electronics manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with web-based software

Responsibilities

  • Train, lead, and oversee Inspectors in their daily duties to ensure operational efficiency and adherence to quality standards
  • Develop, coach, and mentor employees through the use of performance planning to drive employee and business growth
  • Review the daily allocation of resources in order to support production schedule in order to meet established customer requirements
  • Monitor, report, and improve quality-related KPIs, using data to evaluate current performance, identify gaps, and drive daily problem-solving efforts
  • Oversee the preparation and completion of First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain applicable non-conforming material system dispositions
  • Conduct purchase order approval activity
  • Make staffing decisions in accordance with management and human resource procedures to build and grow the team to meet the needs of the business
  • NDT NADCAP audit coordination
  • Support in-process and new product design and introduction inspections
  • Perform internal quality and safety audits and participate in internal and external quality audits to maintain compliance and continuous improvement
  • Assist with the development of Quality Technicians where applicable
  • Any other task assigned by your supervisor or management
  • Customer source inspection
  • Delegated Manufacturing Inspection Representative (DMIR – FAA) and conformity inspection
  • Stamp Control and audits
