About The Position

Penn Life Sciences is looking for an Inspection & Packaging Supervisor to join our team in Langhorne, PA. The Inspection & Packaging Supervisor will lead visual inspection and packaging operations for sterile injectable products, ensuring all activities are executed in compliance with cGMP and regulatory requirements. This role is responsible for managing inspection qualification programs, overseeing packaging line performance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, compliance, and product quality. The ideal candidate will bring proven leadership experience in sterile inspection and packaging operations, with a strong focus on quality, safety, and team development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences, pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • At least 5 years of cGMP production experience with sterile injectable vial inspection, defect recognition, and aseptic packaging operations.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience overseeing inspection and/or packaging operations for sterile injectable vials.
  • Strong knowledge of visual inspection qualification programs, defect kit management, and packaging line operations including serialization and aggregation.
  • Familiarity with AQL/AOQL sampling, deviation management, CAPA, and regulatory inspection readiness.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage daily inspection and packaging operations, ensuring compliance with cGMP, safety, and quality standards.
  • Oversee inspection qualification programs, including defect kit management, inspector training, and performance assessments.
  • Supervise packaging processes such as serialization, aggregation, labeling, and shipper/pallet preparation to ensure accurate and compliant execution.
  • Develop and manage staffing plans, shift schedules, and workload distribution to meet production and changeover targets.
  • Monitor key departmental metrics including output per shift, changeover efficiency, rejection rates, and defect detection performance, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth through coaching, cross-training, and performance development of direct reports.
