About The Position

Managing all personnel assigned to the Engine Center Inspection Department. Ascertaining that all inspections are properly performed on all completed work before it is released to the owner operator and that the proper inspection records, reports, and forms used by this Repair Station are properly executed.

Requirements

  • High school graduate; some college and/or technical school desirable.
  • Must have at least 2 years of experience maintaining the same category and class of aircraft used by Kalitta Air.
  • Must possess exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to read, write and understand spoken and written English.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to give verbal and written direction to assigned staff.
  • Hold airframe and power plant certificate.
  • Have at least 2 years' experience maintaining the same category and class of aircraft used by Kalitta Air.
  • Must have adequate documented training substantiate qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Inspection Supervisor to ensure Inspection coverage is scheduled properly.
  • Ensuring that no Suspected Unapproved Parts are installed in any article released by the Repair Station.
  • Additional duties / projects that are assigned by the Corporate Director of Quality Control/Accountable Manager.
  • Ensuring proper tagging and identification of all repaired / removed parts and ensuring procedures are followed on all repaired / removed parts.
  • Ensuring the final acceptance of all incoming material including new parts, supplies, and the airworthiness of articles on which work has been performed outside the station by contract.
  • Seeing that rejected and unserviceable parts, after proper marking, are returned to the owner / operator or, with his permission, are mutilated or disposed of in accordance with the applicable section of this manual.
  • Reviewing Inspection personnel training files to ensure they have the proper training required to perform their job duties.
  • Identifying and evaluating quality problems and initiating corrective actions which effectively provide for their solution.
  • Managing, planning, and laying out details of inspection standards, methods, and procedures used by the Repair Station, thus ensuring compliance with all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, manufacture’s recommendations, and customer required polices and procedures.
  • Approved Inspector schedules, time off sheets, travel arrangements, equipment request forms, and additional training requirements.
  • Ensure that all employees under his/her management follow best safety practices.
