About The Position

Ultium Cells Overview: Ultium Cells, LLC. is a joint venture Lithium-ion battery cell manufacturing plant between LG Energy Solution, Ltd., and General Motors. This high-technology plant will have the latest in battery cell manufacturing technology. Ultium Cells’ partners include LG Energy Solution, Ltd.; the world’s largest manufacturer of automotive battery cells, and General Motors; a global company committed to delivering safer, better and more sustainable ways for people to get around. Job Purpose: Prevent quality issue in advance and maximize output (yield, OEE) through the establishment of inspection system, management of inspection equipment maintenance, improvement of inspection equipment performance, and the introduction of new equipment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or similar required
  • Driven by objectives/KPI’s; consistent; and high personal ownership to upholding accountability to established standards and practices
  • Ability to use Logical thinking and decision making by focusing on identifying root cause objectively using data, analyzing production results, and following proven problem-solving methods
  • Knowledge of Mechanical/technical curiosity and mindset
  • Commitment and desire to learn our complex battery manufacturing processes with the goal of becoming a go-to resource for technical problem-solving discussions
  • Effective communication and presentation skills
  • MS Office tool-based report writing and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work well with individuals and teams across the company to achieve team goals and targets
  • Good computer, Troubleshooting, Problem-solving, Critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment a requirement

Nice To Haves

  • Machine Vision Engineering in a manufacturing or automotive engineering environment through an internship, co-op, entry level job role, or similar is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Compliance with health/safety/environmental/fire regulations
  • Inspection machine PM management (inspection machine maintenance/performance management)
  • Inspector equipment improvement activities
  • Improving/managing inspection machine accuracy and detection power
  • Establishment of inspection information management system
  • Expansion of equipment and dissemination/application of new technologies for inspection
  • Review/plan of Inspection machine Model development and Model change
  • Developing Technician skill improvement plan and implementing
  • Establishment and management of inspection machine standards (design, installation, operation)
  • Establishment and revision of PFD, BM/PM/PD Manual (BM/PD Measures Guide) PFD: Process Flow Diagram
  • Developing Competency
  • Performing other duties assigned by the superior
