Requirements

  • Previous sales experience required. Previous metals experience helpful, but not necessary.
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft programs and able to use them on a daily basis.
  • Strong keyboarding and math skills.
  • Basic purchase order reading.
  • Ability to listen and organize daily, weekly and monthly tasks.
  • The ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • The ability to work under pressure.
  • Flexibility and the ability to prioritize.
  • Knowledge of general shop procedures and rules including safety precautions.
  • Ability and willingness to cooperate with co-workers and work as part of a production team.

Responsibilities

  • Handles incoming sales calls, inquiries, orders, expedites and complaints promptly and completely.
  • Places outgoing calls to quote follow-ups including expedites.
  • Places cold calls to customers with dormant accounts.
  • Processes orders and inquiries from phone/email.
  • Able to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines.
  • Able to successfully use the AS400 and accurately complete paperwork as assigned.
  • Able to use communication devices proficiently.
  • Able to communicate effectively through written and verbal communication.
  • Wears approved personal protective equipment such as safety glasses when needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by a supervisor or management by deadline provided
