About The Position

As an Inside Sales & Service Representative, you will take pride in providing an excellent customer experience. You will meet or exceed the sales targets established by your Manager and work with the Profit Center Manager to establish revenue and margin targets. Your role will involve accurately processing Sales Orders and Bids generated through telephone sales transactions, assisting customers who pick up their orders at our Profit Center, and finding innovative ways to grow sales with existing customers. You will generate sales leads that develop into new customers and identify opportunities for value-added services. Additionally, you will investigate and resolve customer problems, address pricing deductions and material returns, and support Counter and Outside Sales activities as part of our Profit Center team. Communication with the Profit Center Manager and Credit Manager regarding any changes in a customer's business that might cause a credit risk is also essential. You will be required to complete safety and compliance training programs and perform other reasonably related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 1 year of experience in customer service or inside sales; contractor sales preferred.
  • Knowledge of products sold in the Profit Center preferred.
  • Possess a proper and valid driver's license.

  • Effectively use Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel) to communicate via email, maintain weekly sales plans, call reports, and customer contact files, and analyze customer data.
  • Demonstrate outstanding customer service, telephone/verbal communication, and generous listening skills.
  • Demonstrate product knowledge to answer customer questions and identify opportunities to upsell or cross sell.
  • Build influential relationships and trust with customers and vendors through open and interactive communication.
  • Be able to ask probing questions to understand customer needs, overcome objections by recommending profitable solutions, explain our value-added services, and ask for the order and close the sale.
  • Be able to build positive working relationships and inspire teamwork with co-workers.
  • Be able to learn and operate the computer related systems used to process orders.
  • Be able to learn to operate warehouse material-handling equipment.
  • Read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Responsibilities

  • Successfully complete required safety and compliance training programs as assigned.
  • Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.
