Position Summary The Inside Sales / Sales Support Specialist (know at Balluff as ‘SOE Specialist’) coordinates sales support activities to drive growth within the defined region. This role engages with potential and existing customers throughout the United States and Canada via email, telephone, and other media to generate leads, support sales appointments, and process customer inquiries and orders. Fundamental automation product and technology knowledge is required.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in a related technical or business field, or minimum 3–5 years of related sales experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, SAP, and CRM software
  • Positive demeanor with ability to develop instant rapport with customers
  • Strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously
  • Ability to identify customer needs and sales opportunities
  • Excellent negotiation and consultative sales skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with customers and co-workers at all levels
  • Professional telephone etiquette; tactful, judicious, and poised in diverse situations
  • Technical aptitude and willingness to learn Balluff products
  • Team player willing to support colleagues in accomplishing assigned responsibilities
  • Demonstrated adaptability and ability to perform effectively in a dynamic environment with evolving processes and limited formal documentation
  • Comfortable collaborating across regional and global teams, including Shared Services in Canada, Mexico, and other LATAM countries

Responsibilities

  • Actively support all sales activities including inbound and outbound customer inquiries, sales lead development, quotation generation and follow-up, and customer project support.
  • Assist customers in navigating Balluff.com and other digital tools.
  • Communicate insights from customer interactions to Sales and Leadership via CRM, email, and verbal updates.
  • Analyze customer backlogs to recommend additional products or coordinate with Supply Chain to expedite deliveries.
  • Generate new customer opportunities via virtual meetings, cold/warm calling, and email outreach.
  • Review and manage CRM (C4C) data including tickets, contacts, and opportunities; coordinate with field sales for inventory, pricing, and project wins.
  • Collaborate with Technical Support to coordinate competitive product cross-references.
  • Work with Shared Services centers regionally and globally to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Process special paperwork to support quotes, orders, or special pricing requests.
  • Enter and process customer orders in SAP according to business requirements.
  • Schedule and coordinate face-to-face meetings between potential customers and Field Sales.
  • Perform sales analysis and generate reports using SAP, Business Warehouse, and CRM.
  • Maintain a high level of product knowledge via scheduled and self-initiated training.
  • Assist other employees as needed in accomplishing assigned responsibilities.
