The position involves working closely with Outside Salesmen to meet or exceed sales and gross profit objectives. The candidate must be knowledgeable about Siskin's products, processes, and procedures, and become familiar with mill tolerances and cutting schedules. The role requires fostering positive business relationships with Southern customers through effective communication and proper telephone etiquette. Responsibilities include accurately writing sales orders, quoting prices, handling customer complaints, and assisting in the preparation of customer profiles. The candidate will also engage in call-out solicitation to increase sales and may be required to visit major accounts with Outside Salesmen.

  • Work closely with Outside Salesman to meet or exceed Sales and Gross Profit objectives.
  • Become knowledgeable with Siskin's products, processes, and procedures.
  • Foster positive business relationships with Southern customers using proper telephone etiquette.
  • Accurately write up Sales Orders with correct product description, code, quantity, and delivery.
  • Quote prices from established pricing matrix for all stock items.
  • Professionally handle all customer complaints and document for authorization of returned goods.
  • Assist in the preparation of customer profiles including relevant customer information.
  • Use Call-Out solicitation to increase sales by qualifying leads and activating dormant accounts.
  • May be required to visit major accounts with Outside Salesmen.
  • 0-5 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • High School diploma/GED required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and effective processing and distribution techniques.
  • Knowledge of company products and their uses.
  • Knowledge of the metals industry.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.
  • Ability to make sound decisions based on analysis, knowledge, and judgment.
  • Ability to initiate and maintain cooperative relationships with co-workers and customers.
  • Strong computer proficiency and working knowledge of Microsoft applications.
