About The Position

The Inside Sales Representative for the ProTapes Division is a commercially driven, outbound-focused sales professional responsible for pipeline creation, distributor activation, and revenue acceleration across ProTapes’ priority verticals, including but not limited to Marine & Transportation, Industrial, and Building & Construction. This position requires prior B2B sales experience, strong business acumen, and the ability to independently manage accounts, qualify opportunities, and influence buying decisions within distributor and end-user environments. This role reports to the Director of Sales Support & Specialties but works closely in alignment with ProTapes’ Business Unit Leaders to accelerate growth, enhance distributor pull-through, and support the launch and expansion of high-value ProTapes solutions. The position is an in-office position, based in North Brunswick, NJ and highly cross-functional, interacting daily with BU Managers, Marketing, Demand Planning, Customer Success, and Shurtape enterprise systems.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to conduct professional, value-driven outbound sales conversations with distributors and end users
  • Strong consultative selling and opportunity qualification skills
  • Ability to clearly articulate the business rationale for outreach and recommended solutions
  • Proven experience managing multiple accounts and opportunities simultaneously
  • High proficiency with CRM systems and ERP-integrated workflows (Dynamics preferred)
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills; able to prioritize activities based on revenue impact
  • Confident decision-maker with the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced sales environment
  • Professional presence and ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at multiple organizational levels
  • Track record of consistent follow-through, accountability, and results
  • Commitment to ongoing product, market, and sales skills development
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of B2B sales experience (inside sales, commercial sales, or sales development)
  • At least 3 years of experience in outbound, quota-driven sales
  • Proven experience supporting distributors, channel partners, or multi-step buying environments
  • Experience in solution selling where value is communicated through applications, outcomes, and total cost impact — not just product features
  • Prior experience in industrial, manufacturing, construction, marine, or technical B2B markets strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Sales Execution & Pipeline Growth
  • Own outbound pipeline generation across assigned verticals and target accounts, with clear activity, opportunity, and revenue targets
  • Build and manage a defined book of distribution and target accounts
  • Execute structured outbound campaigns to generate qualified opportunities, including quotes, samples, trials, and conversions
  • Independently qualify opportunities, identify decision-makers, and advance deals through defined sales stages
  • Support ProTapes BU Managers with account research, opportunity qualification, and pre-call planning.
  • Distributor Engagement
  • Deepen relationships with key ProTapes distributors through regular touchpoints, promotion execution, lead follow-up, and opportunity tracking.
  • Educate distributors on ProTapes products, converting capabilities, and channel-specific applications.
  • Identify gaps in distributor coverage and initiate outreach to activate underdeveloped geographies or verticals.
  • Shurtape Sales Collaboration & Cross-Sell Enablement
  • Proactively partner with the Shurtape Industrial Sales team to identify new avenues for revenue growth across existing accounts and channels
  • Facilitate cross-selling of ProTapes solutions within established Shurtape customer relationships
  • Build strong working relationships with Shurtape sales counterparts to support joint opportunity development and coordinated account engagement
  • Act as a commercial connector between ProTapes and Shurtape, ensuring alignment on product positioning, pricing considerations, and opportunity strategy
  • Support data analysis and account segmentation efforts to identify cross-sell opportunities within existing Shurtape channels
  • Maintain accurate opportunity tracking and reporting to support coordinated execution and pipeline visibility across both organizations
