Requirements

  • Minimum of 18 years of age.
  • If operating a vehicle for company purposes, a valid driver's license is required.
  • A minimum of one-year business to business sales experience.
  • Strong presentation, communication, organization, multitasking, and time management skills.
  • Solid problem solving and consultative skills required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team sales environment with minimum supervision.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s Degree preferred

Responsibilities

  • Generate new and repeat sales by providing product and technical information in a timely manner.
  • Determine customer requirements and expectations in order to recommend specific products and solutions.
  • Proactively recommend alternate products based on cost, availability, or specifications to increase customer satisfaction and improve transaction profitability.
  • Present price, credit, and terms in accordance with standard procedures and customers’ profitability profiles.
  • Accurately process customer transactions such as orders, quotes, or returns over the phone.
  • Provide accurate information regarding availability of in-stock items.
  • Obtain accurate information from vendors relating to shipment dates and expected date of delivery.
  • Increase sales and average order size by means of cross-selling, up-selling, add-on sales, and offering promotional sale items.
  • Educate customers on features and benefits of products in order to improve product related sales and customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor scheduled shipment dates to ensure timely delivery and expedite when necessary.
  • Contact customers following sales to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction.
  • Fill customer requests for catalogs, information, or samples.
  • Remain current on consumer preferences, changes in local codes, and product developments by attending sales meetings, vendor trainings, and trade shows.
  • Setup and maintain customer files within company CRM.
  • Identify trends in customer satisfaction or dissatisfaction to ensure higher levels of service in future transaction.
  • Communicate to the purchasing department unexpected increases or decreases in demand for products.
  • Assist in scheduled physical inventory counts.
  • Prepare and submits weekly call reports and monthly sales.
  • Any other duty, task, or responsibilities as assigned.
