About The Position

540 Technologies is seeking a motivated and technically inclined Inside Sales Representative to support and expand the effectiveness of our sales team. This role provides essential coordination, technical support, and administrative assistance to the sales organization while building strong relationships with customers. This position requires someone who is detail-oriented, adaptable, mechanically inclined, and capable of managing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. This individual will play a key role in supporting customer relationships, coordinating sales activities, and ensuring smooth and efficient sales operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technical Field, or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous sales or sales support experience required.
  • Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
  • Solid analytical, math, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Ability to quickly learn and use new software and business systems.
  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Experience presenting to groups or delivering product demonstrations.
  • Technical or mechanical experience preferred.
  • ERP experience preferred (Epicor Prophet 21 experience a plus).

Responsibilities

  • Support the sales team by preparing and delivering customer quotes.
  • Serve as a central point of contact for customer inquiries, orders, and technical questions.
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with customers and assist in resolving issues or complaints.
  • Provide pricing, product availability, and order status updates to customers.
  • Suggest additional or alternative products to meet customer needs.
  • Coordinate remote cold-calling efforts and assist with appointment scheduling.
  • Process customer orders and track order activity through the ERP system.
  • Coordinate order fulfillment and shipments.
  • Monitor delivery timelines and communicate potential delays to appropriate staff.
  • Order and receive inventory as required.
  • Develop a strong working knowledge of company products, applications, and services.
  • Provide technical product support to customers and internal sales staff.
  • Manage the demo and loaner equipment fleet.
  • Assess equipment issues and coordinate repairs as necessary.
  • Maintain and track sales activity and reporting metrics.
  • Serve as the central coordinator for sales call tracking.
  • Assist with marketing initiatives and events as directed.
  • Prepare reports and summaries for management as requested.
  • Work closely with sales, marketing, operations, and customer service teams.
  • Communicate effectively with personnel at all organizational levels.
  • Participate in ongoing product and sales training.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
