About The Position

Job Title: Inside Sales Representative Reports to: Branch Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Job Summary: Supervisory Responsibilities: None Duties/Responsibilities: Serve as the first point of contact for customers—responding to inquiries, handling incoming calls, and processing orders. Generate sales by identifying customer needs, upselling relevant products, and offering tailored solutions. Prepare and follow up on quotations, ensuring accurate pricing and timely responses. Source and purchase materials not in stock to meet customer requirements. Maintain product knowledge and stay updated on new products and industry trends. Open new accounts and manage the full sales process, including closing orders. Provide technical product expertise and guidance to customers. Foster and maintain strong customer relationships to ensure satisfaction and loyalty. Provide counter sales, process returns, and assist with shipping, receiving, and inventory stocking. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure customer expectations are met. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Outstanding customer service and communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport quickly and effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-starter who works well independently and as part of a team.
  • Technically savvy with solid proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Sales-oriented mindset with a track record of building and maintaining relationships.
  • High school diploma (Grade 12) required; post-secondary education in electrical or technical fields is an asset.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in counter sales, inside sales, or related customer service roles.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in electrical products (lighting, wiring, controls) and/or plumbing products is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with contractors, institutional purchasers, or industrial clients is an asset.
