About The Position

The Inside Sales Representative role at Sterling is fast-paced and high-impact. You will manage inbound leads, nurture house accounts, and execute high-volume outbound calling campaigns to drive pipeline creation, deliver accurate quotes, and close revenue. Success in this role requires energy, urgency, and a passion for results.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five (2) years’ experience with inside sales or account management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, negotiation and analytical skills are essential.
  • Must be proficient with CRM software and Microsoft Office products with strong attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, marketing or related field is preferred but not required.
  • Site access mats and/or construction sales experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Full understanding of the Sterling Sales and Operations Planning Process.
  • Execute 40-60 outbound calls each day to prospects, house accounts, and leads.
  • Develop and convert new business opportunities through relentless follow-up and value-driven conversations.
  • Collaborate with pricing, operations, and logistics teams to deliver timely, accurate, and strategic quotes.
  • Respond to inbound inquiries via phone, web, or email, and quickly qualify potential deals.
  • Participate in job site walkdowns with the Construction Services Team to understand product application.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key contacts (buyers, PMs, execs) to maximize account value.
  • Position Sterling’s unique value proposition in a case-by-case / customer-by-customer manner based on project specs and competitive dynamics.
  • Maintain all opportunity data and contact activity logs in the CRM system, keeping pipeline information, lead conversions, contact records, and deal status up to date.
  • Meet or exceed meaningful daily, weekly, and monthly KPIs, including call volume, quote volume, and closed revenue targets.
  • Monitor market activity, track competitor moves and stay informed on industry trends.
  • Consistently demonstrate commitment to the Sterling vision, mission, policies, and procedures.
  • Foster a culture of urgency, innovation, teamwork, and customer-centricity.
  • Cultivate strong partnerships with cross-functional teams to support departmental needs and business goals.
  • All other duties and projects assigned.
