About The Position

The Inside Sales Representative serves in a key customer service role on a day-to-day basis and assists Regional Sales Managers with customer forecasts, manage accounts via SSAB automated sales system, plan and maintain inventory programs through customer interactions and internal scheduling.

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience

  • Previous steel and/or steel-related industry experience and product knowledge desirable
  • Bachelor’s degree

Responsibilities

  • Conduct sales calls with Regional Sales Manager (RSM) and develop good customer relations.
  • Order entry via electronic order entry system.
  • Field sales inquiries from, and prepare and submit price quotations to, customers.
  • Gather information and process claims via electronic entry system.
  • Enter pricing exceptions and contractual business items into system for approval.
  • Expedite orders and report order status to customers.
  • Gather market information.
  • Investigate and request approval for price discrepancies.
  • Notify customers of any and all price changes and surchargesObtain and disseminate customer feedback to appropriate SSAB personnel.
  • Maintain communication with outside sales representative (OSR) to exchange important customer information, including, but not limited to:Special customer needsOrder information: pricing, delivery, status,ClaimsMarket informationWork closely with RSM and OSR through an effective team dynamicProactively anticipate customer needs and resolve customer issues.
  • Maintain ongoing dialogue with SSAB shipping, credit, purchasing, scheduling, and quality departments in order to ensure quality customer service and product.
  • Maintain customer profiles.
  • Write and submit weekly highlight reports.
  • Complete and submit expense reports.
  • Conduct all business within the scope of SSAB’s company policies and procedures.
