Working in our Inside Sales Hub in our downtown Chicago office, this entry-level Inside Sales Engineer (SE) Associate will be accountable for supporting our Inside Account Managers who align to specific verticals. This role's primary focus will be to support the Inside Account Managers (with the assistance of more senior-level Sales Engineers as needed) with defining and leading the strategic technical direction for our enterprise accounts. The position will have direct access to the latest technology from Zebra Technologies and its vendor partner community. This role will develop strong relationships with inside sellers, field-based sales engineers, internal engineering, and product management teams to support executing the technology strategy for the enterprise accounts. With access to industry experts and engineering peers, this will fuel self-development and career growth within Zebra Technologies. Invaluable opportunity for someone looking to enter into the SE function, or newer in their sales engineering career, to learn from the ground up. The role must reside in the US with the ability to work from our downtown Chicago office 5 days per week. Zebra's office is comfortably located across the street from Union Metra Station.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in a technical concentration or equivalent experience
  • 0+ years in a related technical role (Sales Engineer, Systems Engineer, Solution Architect, Pre-Sales Engineer, IT)
  • Must reside in the US, specifically within Chicago or surrounding suburbs, with the ability to commute to the downtown office x5 days a week

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience communicating with B2B customers/ experience working in a customer-facing environment and troubleshooting customer issues
  • Experience in a Sales Engineer function
  • Must be technically savvy, but with strong virtual customer facing skills pertaining to driving new & innovative solutions and facilitating problem resolution when required

  • Uses full knowledge of customer's business and market economics/trends to position effectively versus competition
  • Solves routine problems of moderate complexity (e.g. verifying technical compatibility) at the customer level
  • Understands and resolves problems with support from technical resources
  • Works under general supervision. Makes decisions of moderate complexity that impact deliverables of projects; exercises judgment in approach, sometimes requiring and assessing tradeoffs
  • Acts independently with buyers/decision makers for small and mid-sized deals and end users
  • Responsible for influencing the customer to purchase small to moderate size projects
