Inside Sales is first contact with customer for pricing/production/quality and delivery. Fielding all questions and concerns for customers by performing the following duties.
Reads correspondence or receives calls from customers to determine customer’s needs.
Quotes prices based on information received from customer/prospect and discussion with Lock Joint Tube Manufacturing group or view information available to Sales group.
Confers with Engineering, Metallurgical Lab and Steel Purchasing departments to ascertain feasibility of designing new products, steel availability and testing requirements if needed.
Confers with Production department to determine feasibility and to obtain estimates of cost, production run and scrap percentage.
Corresponds with customer to inform of production progress and costs.
Creates customer specific parts if not already a product being produced for said customer.
Enters customer P.O.’s requesting completion date to be within customers desired timeframe.
Follow up with customer on late orders and then also schedule orders for shipment and provide correct address for shipment to be delivered.
Manage customer stock inventory programs.
Track customer usage to accurately determine compared to forecast for index pricing.
Travels occasionally to call on regular or prospective customers to solicit orders, visit for quality issues or for courtesy customer service visit.
Bachelor’s Degree preferred OR Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year College or Technical School.
Six months to one year work related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with office computer software required, including demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office Suite software packages such as: Outlook, Word and Excel.
Ability to create/modify spreadsheets and formulas in Excel.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
